Students should create a Learning Support Fund Application System (LSFAS) account (if course or academic year started before 1st September 2020) or a NHS LSF account (if course or academic year started on/after 1st September 2020) by registering via our website.

Once you have done this, you will receive an email with a link to activate your account. You must activate your account within 72 hours or the link will expire, if this happens you will need to register another account.

After you have activated your account, you can access the LSFAS/NHS LSF account and apply for the different funding allowances.

Please be aware that students who apply via the new LSF funding system (courses/academic years stating on or after 1st September 2020) will only be able to apply for Travel and Dual Accommodation Expenses (TDAE) and the Exceptional Support Fund (ESF) once their Training Grant application has been processed and approved. These options will be available to apply for in your account once this has occurred.

Parental Support should be applied for at the same time as the Training Grant. The system will ask you if you wish to apply for this as part of the same application.

If you are a continuing student and your academic year started prior to 1st September 2020, you should use your existing LSF account. You will be able to reapply for funding once you are in active study (you have re-enrolled and have resumed your course). If your academic year commences after 1st September 2020, a new funding account should be established. Further information on this is available on our website

You can apply for the different funding elements as necessary by logging onto your LSFAS/NHS LSF account using your existing log in details and then clicking on the link for whichever funding you are applying for.

Creating a duplicate account could result in applications being delayed.
