You must apply for NHS LSF either:

  • within 6 months of the start of the academic year
  • within 6 months of returning to study after withdrawal

You must apply again for each new academic year to continue to receive the training grant.

If you’re a continuing student, we’ll email invites out in groups to make sure we process all applications for the start of the academic year.

Check our website to see when you can submit your NHS LSF application.

How to apply

You can apply for NHS LSF by creating an NHS Learning Support Fund account.

Once you have registered, you'll receive an email with a link to activate your account. You must activate your account within 72 hours, or you’ll need to register another account.

Once you’ve activated your account you can log in and apply for the Training Grant and Parental Support.

If your training grant application is approved, you'll also be able to download claim forms for Travel and Dual Accommodation Expenses (TDAE) and the Exceptional Support Fund (ESF).

You must use the same NHS LSF account for the duration of your course. Creating duplicate accounts could result in delays to your application.

Deadline dates

Your application and all relevant evidence must be uploaded before the deadline for it to be considered.
