Some NHS dental treatments do not have a charge attached. These are called ‘charge exempt’ treatments.

They include:

  • issue of a prescription, a prescription charge will apply at the pharmacy
  • repair of a denture
  • repair of a bridge
  • removal of sutures
  • arrest of bleeding

If you receive any other type of treatment, the relevant treatment band charge will apply.
