You're eligible for Healthy Start if you're pregnant or receiving a qualifying benefit and have a child under the age of 4
If you receive Universal Credit (UC), you can apply on our website.
Contact us for an application form if you're pregnant and either:
- receiving another qualifying benefit
- not receiving a qualifying benefit
You'll not automatically be entitled to Healthy Start payments when your child is born or you turn age 18. The action to take for your Healthy Start payments to continue, depends on your circumstances.
If you were not receiving a qualifying benefit when you first applied for Healthy Start but are now, you must reapply.
If you received a qualifying benefit when you applied for Healthy Start and have turned age 18 before your child is born, your Healthy Start payments will continue. You must contact us when your baby is born.
