The service is currently in beta testing, and we’ve launched to a limited number of organisations.
This means only those included in the testing can access and use the system, until more are invited in the near future, or the service is fully launched to everyone.
To prepare for when your organisation is invited to use the service you can:
- register on the adult social care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) if you've not already done this
- complete the onboarding form
During this early phase, the scheme is running with a limited pilot. We cannot confirm when we’ll be able to onboard you. You'll be able to backdate claims for approved courses.
Invited organisations
As part of the onboarding process, eligible ASC providers will be sent a pack with key details about the scheme when they've been selected.
The Grant Determination Letter is presented on the system when you apply. You must tick to confirm you agree to abide by this when you register.
You must register your details using the link provided and nominate a named officer to be the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO). This creates your unique account.
You must also provide:
- your ASC-WDS unique reference number
- verified bank account details
The onboarding process for the online claims service does not need information already supplied for the ASC-WDS.
Only the employers of eligible care staff will be given access to the online claims service. Claims cannot be submitted directly by care staff or training providers.
Multi-factor authentication
The system uses multi-factor authentication using a Microsoft authenticator app. You must use either an Apple or Android mobile device to register with the Care Skills Funding service.
The authenticator is also needed to log into the Care Skills Funding system before submitting a claim.
If you're having issues with this, the app has a help section you can use. We're unable to advise as it's the Microsoft authenticator app and not an NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) system.
