Skills for Care is the strategic workforce development and planning body for Adult Social Care (ASC) in England.
They work with employers, government, and partners to make sure social care has the right people, skills and support needed to deliver the highest quality care and support now and in the future.
They manage the database of providers, called the adult social care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS), and the approved course listings.
The ASC-WDS is a list which allows care providers to:
- benchmark their organisation against others in the care industry
- record training and qualification data for staff
- provide centralised data to government
Any organisation that wants to claim adult social care learning and development support must be registered on the ASC-WDS.
