You must tell us about a change in your unearned income by completing a Change of Circumstances form.

This could include receiving sponsorship income from an employer or if you were in receipt of a dependents pension which has now stopped.

If you're a part-time student, you must tell us about a change in your earned income during the current academic year.

Change in parent's or partner's income

Income has increased

If your parent or partner's income has increased, this does not affect your award.

The increase in income is used when assessing your next academic year's application.

The exception to this is if your award has been reassessed due to your parent or partner's income dropping by 15% or more. If their income increases in the same academic year, you must contact us to revert your award back to the original assessment.

Income has decreased

Your bursary may be reassessed if your parent or partner's income has reduced by 15% or more compared to the previous tax year.

If your award is assessed using both of your parent's income, it must be reduced by 15% or more on the combined income. Both of your parents must declare their current income.

If you already receive the full basic award, the drop in income will not affect the amount you receive.

Complete a Change of Circumstances form.

Your parent's or partner must complete a Current Income Assessment form and provide evidence.

If you applied for a non means tested award without declaring income, you must submit a new application for the relevant academic year.

Any Dependents, Parent Learning or Childcare Allowance (CCA) you receive will also be reassessed.

An increase in expenses can be considered in the reassessment.
